There is good reason for this, and I think most readers will suspect it long before it is confirmed due to some heavy foreshadowing. I was happy to see that Evie was enjoying h The King's Traitor was not as good as the previous two books in the series. I get that she was in love with Owen but I felt the constant reminders just made her seem desperate. I am satisfied with where the story took her, and I liked to see the ways she learned from Owen.
